From paddy to pack
How our murmura is made
Murmura is simple food, and simple food depends on care at every step.

Paddy
We buy paddy from farmers and brokers in the region.

Boiling
The paddy is boiled in hot water.

Roasting
The boiled paddy is roasted.

Removing the husk
The outer layer of the paddy, the husk (pottu), is taken off.

Cooling and polishing
The rice is cooled and polished, which takes about an hour.

Murmura
Then the rice puffs up into light, crisp murmura.

Packing
The murmura is packed fresh in 250 g and 500 g packets: 25 packets to a 250 g bag, 20 to a 500 g bag.
